The Houston Rockets’ season might not be over yet, thanks to a stellar showing from Jalen Green during the past few weeks. And according to head coach Ime Udoka, it seems that the young shooting guard has a bright future ahead of him.

When Alperen Sengun went down with an ankle injury earlier this month, many wrote off the Rockets away from the playoff picture. This placed much of the offensive load on Green’s shoulders, which he has carried surprisingly well these past few weeks.

Since Sengun’s injury, Green has been playing like a man possessed. In those six games, the Rockets’ star has averaged 24.5 points on 53 percent shooting from the field and 48 percent from beyond the arc, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Furthermore, Houston has not lost since their rising center went down.

Due to Green’s heroics, the Rockets are now in 11th place in the West, just closely behind the Golden State Warriors. If the Stephen Curry-led team doesn’t finish the regular season strong and Houston does, the latter may find itself in the Play-In Tournament instead of the struggling franchise.

Houston Rockets Star Jalen Green Gets Superstar Praise From Head Coach Ime Udoka

After the Rockets recent win against the Utah Jazz, a game in which Green dropped 41 points, head coach Ime Udoka spoke to reporters how proud he is of the shooting guard. In a video posted by ClutchFans on X:

In that particular game, Green posted 41 points on 68 percent shooting from the field and 63 percent from deep, while making four rebounds and four assists. That volume and efficiency allowed Houston to get the 147-119 win over Utah.

Even after going through some hard times, Green’s potential is finally being shown at a high level. If his pace continues, the Rockets’ season may not come to an end yet this year.
