Cam Whitmore was the 20th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft this past summer, and has played in three games so far this season. 

The 19-year-old is averaging 2.3 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 33.3% from the field. 

On Tuesday, Michael Shapiro of Chron reported that the Rockets will assign Whitmore to the G League. 

According to the G League's transaction page, Whitmore has officially been assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (G League affiliate of the Rockets). 

Via Shapiro: "#Rockets are sending Cam Whitmore to the G League squad in Rio Grande Valley, per a team source. 

Not exactly sure when the move will be announced. G League season starts Friday."

Whitmore played in his college basketball for Villanova, and during his one season, he averaged 12.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 47.8% from the field and 34.3% from the three-point range in 26 games.
