Denver leads the series 1-0 after Saturday’s 114-103 triumph over Los Angeles. Nikola Jokic was the top scorer for the Nuggets with 32 points, marking a double-double by adding 12 rebounds. Anthony Davis also scored 32 points and contributed 14 rebounds in his double-double, despite the Lakers’ loss.

The reigning champion Denver finished the regular season in second place in the East, with a record of 33-8 playing at home. The Nuggets now have a balance of 34-19 in games against teams from their conference. They are playing their sixth consecutive postseason.

The Los Angeles team ended a three-game winning streak and will aim to tie the series. They defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in the Play-In to secure the seventh spot in the standings. Relying on the experience of their top figure, LeBron James, the Lakers are heading into their third consecutive postseason.
