Kevin Durant has had tremendous success in the NBA since coming into the league in 2007. Winning two championships and a league MVP, the 14-time All-Star has enjoyed success which many players aspire to. However, the Phoenix Suns superstar feels his injuries in the past two seasons denied him the chance to enhance his legacy further.
Durant blamed those season-ending injuries on floppers. Speaking to AZ Central Sports, Durant talked about how he has been able to stay healthy this year.
No players flopped into my legs this year. Last two years, I had my teammate flop into me and an opponent flop into me two straight years that caused me to get MCL injuries. If it wasn’t for that, I probably would’ve been out there the same amount of games, but I’m glad nobody flopped into me. Just stay away from the crash dummies, you know. The dudes who try to sell calls and don’t mind hurting people by diving on the floor trying to sell a call. I know who those guys are, and I try to stay away from them. Kevin Durant said
Kevin Durant suggested that he has been able to stay away from opponents who try to flop. But he is also grateful that none of his teammates caused him any injuries.
This is a serious situation with the league as players flop to earn foul calls. Fouls can alter a game by a pretty good degree. If opponents are drawn into a foul, it not only leads to a possible ‘And 1’ call, but also puts them in a tough spot against shot attempts.
Durant feels many of those floppers do not bother how they fall. Falling on other players can deal significant damage to those around them. That is the reason his potential hall-of-fame career lost a few good years.

Kevin Durant and his superstar teammates have managed to move up to the 6th spot on the playoff ladder. Enough to avoid the sudden death play-in games. In their first year together and having to rely on a weak bench, this is the best they could hope for after struggling towards the end of the regular season. However, the last-ditch wins have enabled them to get some rest before the battle commences.
An exciting first-round matchup is coming up against the Minnesota Timberwolves. After all, the Suns will go up against the team that was in the seeding positions they were touted to be in. Some feel that the experience of Durant and his teammates will bode well when the playoff games start.
If the Phoenix Suns do manage to move past the Timberwolves, it will somehow save their season. Otherwise, even a healthy Durant knows that they would have underachieved despite having all the firepower.
