Insider believes Sixers' trade interests could include 'loftier secret targets' than Zach LaVine, O.G. Anunoby

Following the Philadelphia 76ers striking a blockbuster trade to send James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers roughly one week into the 2023-24 NBA season, immediate chatter began about the idea of another potential move on the horizon. After all, Sixers president Daryl Morey has never been one to shy away from seeking out a high-profile deal and the team picked up four players who should virtually all have some trade value, along with four draft picks and a pick swap.

The initial buzz surrounded two names fairly consistently in Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine and Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby, which NBA insider Marc Stein, creator of the substack The Stein Line, reiterated before dropping another interesting tidbit.

Stein stated that while both LaVine and Anunoby are rumbles "in circulation," it wouldn't surprise him if Morey has "even loftier secret targets," as X account Sixers Galaxy highlighted from the insider.

"There are already rumbles in circulation that the #Sixers could pursue trades for the likes of O.G. Anunoby or Zach LaVine … Though, it wouldn't surprise me if Morey, knowing his history, has even loftier secret targets." - Marc Stein

It's hard to disagree and while LaVine or Anunoby would be a great addition if the Sixers could make those deals happen hypothetically, it probably wouldn't surprise many people to see the franchise linked to another huge name in the near future.
