It’s unclear what’s next for Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart. Last week, before the Pistons entered their NBA All-Star break, Stewart was caught in an altercation with Phoenix Suns veteran Drew Eubanks.

According to reports, Stewart’s verbal altercation with Eubanks behind the scenes in Phoenix turned physical. Stewart now finds himself in legal trouble as a result.

The NBA launched an investigation into the altercation between the two players, having a focus on Stewart since he reportedly threw a punch. With that, there could be a suspension coming Stewart’s way, depending on what the NBA finds and decides.

For the time being, Stewart isn’t placed on hold due to the incident. When the Pistons returned to their practice facility on Wednesday afternoon, Stewart was in attendance, participating with his teammates.

Lately, Stewart’s been battling an ankle injury. The last time he took the floor was on January 28, when the Pistons faced the Oklahoma City Thunder. When Stewart was ruled out for their next matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, a multi-week timeline was placed on his recovery.

At this point, Stewart has missed the last eight games for the Pistons. Before the break, it was reported that Stewart was expected to make his return to the court when the team ramps the season back up after the All-Star Game.

While the pending investigation made Stewart’s potential rerun this week unclear initially, a report from The Athletic mentioned that Stewart could make his return on the road Thursday night when the Pistons pay a visit to the Indiana Pacers.
