Is LeBron James the second-best player of all time? Jalen Rose doesn't think so. Yet. Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Jalen Rose: LeBron James not the second-best NBA player ever yet

Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose is nothing if not consistent.

On Wednesday , ESPN generated headlines, buzz, and hot takes when the website ranked current Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James behind only six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan on the network's list of the greatest NBA players in history.

Rose, who has previously been critical of James' position in all-time player power rankings, responded to the list during Thursday's edition of the "Get Up" program:

"He still has more to achieve to me in order to be the second greatest player in the history of basketball," Rose said of James. "I just think it's short-sighted for people who have a wealth of knowledge to allow him to leapfrog certain people that ... he has not achieved what they achieved."

Rose continued:

"If you look at Michael Jordan in the (ESPN docuseries) 'The Last Dance,' you see all of these Hall of Fame players he stopped from literally winning championships. In this era of basketball, LeBron ain't stopping the great players from winning championships.

"There was no turn in the 90s. MJ snatched them up."

In April, Rose suggested that James was no better than the fifth-greatest player in NBA history as of this stage of the three-time champion's Hall of Fame career. While Jordan's Bulls won in each of the team's six NBA Finals appearances, James' teams have gone 3-6 in the Finals.
