Free agent forward James Ennis has agreed to a contract with Russian club BC Samara, per Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype.

Ennis, 32, is 6-foot-6 and signed 10-day contracts with the Nets, Clippers and Nuggets last season, all of which came during the December-January COVID surge. He appeared in seven total games and averaged 4.1 points.

Before that, he spent the 2020-21 season with the Magic averaging 8.4 points and 4.0 rebounds in 41 games. He has also spent time with the 76ers, Rockets, Pistons, Grizzlies, Pelicans and Heat.

Originally selected with the No. 50 overall pick in the 2013 draft, Ennis started his pro career in Australia and Puerto Rico, before signing an NBA deal in 2014. He has also spent time in the G League, and most recently played for Hapoel Haifa of Israel.

Ennis intends to leave the door open for a return to the NBA, sources said, though it seems such an opportunity isn’t likely to present itself until midseason.
