Jayson Tatum says he's still experiencing effects of COVID-19

Jayson Tatum says that he has noticed a difference in his endurance since he tested positive for COVID-19 last month, admitting that he has found himself getting tired easier despite recovering from the virus that has killed nearly half a million Americans over the past year.

The Celtics star forward tested positive in early January and was forced to miss five games as he recovered. But despite having beat the coronavirus and being allowed to return to the court, Tatum says he has noticed that his health is not yet where it was before COVID-19.

"I think it messes with your breathing a little bit," Tatum said. "I have experienced some games where, I don't want to say [I was] struggling to breathe, but, you know, you get fatigued a lot quicker than normal."

From a fan perspective, we often think that once a player has recovered from COVID-19, the effects are totally gone. In some cases, however, there can be lingering problems. Fortunately, in the case of Tatum, the aftereffects seem relatively mild, as he even said "it's gotten better since the first game I played." Still, the 22-year-old says that the lingering problems with COVID-19 are not entirely gone and that it's still something he's "working on."
