The rumors involving the Utah Jazz continue to keep flying. Now approaching just over a month until the NBA trade deadline hits, an abundance of names has begun to surface as candidates for a change in scenery from their current team.

The Jazz have remained consistently mentioned in those talks, with many players on the roster having some trade value CEO Danny Ainge would love to capitalize on. One of those guys recently mentioned is veteran G Kris Dunn.

According to a report from Ben Anderson of KSL Sports, Dunn could be a name to keep an eye on ahead of the February deadline as a potential mover for the Jazz:

"Let me also add that Kris Dunn could be a sneaky name that contenders might be interested in at the trade deadline. Reliable backcourt help, even if only for a few minutes a night is always valuable, and a team like the Milwaukee Bucks could benefit from a guard who is going to defend the opposing team’s best player for 5-10 minutes a night to give Damian Lillard a slight breather."

Anderson adds the Bucks as a team that could utilize the services of Dunn, noting his defensive ability as a standout trait that league contenders could value. His contract for one year, $2.5 million, makes it easier to facilitate a move with cap-constrained, competitive franchises looking to add a player of his caliber.

In his 27 games played across his 2023-24 campaign, Dunn has averaged 5.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists on 45.7/35.9/68.8 splits. Combine this with his elite perimeter defense, and you can see why many front offices could covet his addition to their team.

While Dunn may have value on the market, it might be more difficult for Utah to part ways with him based on his and the team’s recent success. In the past seven games, Kris has been in the starting lineup, and the Jazz have won in six of them. While he’s not stuffing the stat sheet in the process, it has his lineup versatility and ability to lock down on defense that the Jazz have benefitted immensely from.

Expect to hear more whispers surrounding the Jazz, Dunn, and many other trade candidates on the roster as we get closer to the infamous February 8th date on the calendar.
