Jazz star Donovan Mitchell, Adidas pledge $90K toward education of Jacob Blake's children

The NBA and players around the league are taking the time this week to rethink their priorities following the tragic shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisc., on Sunday.

While teams boycotted games on Thursday, they met to discuss the various ways they can further the conversation not only about racial equality, but about education reform in America to prevent racism.

As a way to help out Blake's family, Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell and Adidas have pledged $90,000 towards the education of Blake's children.

"Education reform is something I really believe in," Mitchell said of the pledge in a video posted to Twitter. "And I believe will be able to help push our country and our future past the point we're at. Allowing kids to understand and be able to go into the same classrooms and to be taught at a level playing field is something I believe is the key to generational success and being able to push past racism, systemic racism and voter suppression."

Mitchell will be taking $45,000 from the sale of his new sneaker to put towards Blake's children with Adidas matching that offer.
