The Philadelphia 76ers have been eliminated in the second round by the Atlanta Hawks, despite a stellar series from Joel Embiid. Joel Embiid has carried the brunt of the load on both ends for the 76ers: over the course of the playoffs, Embiid averaged 28.1 PPG and 10.5 RPG over the playoffs has dominated the rest of the opposition

While losing is a team affair and everyone is to blame at some point, it is hard to attribute most of the losses to Joel Embiid. There is no doubt that he has been the best player on the court, and that the 76ers need to put a better team around him. Embiid was recently asked about whether he wanted to run it back with the same roster, and he had an intriguing answer.

There's no doubt that Joel Embiid is disappointed with the result, and his reaction  to Ben Simmons passing up an open layup went viral. He also pointed to that moment as the turning point for the game. It is clear that Joel Embiid needs a better roster, and the 76ers must help their MVP-caliber big man get it done.
