The Miami Heat on Wednesday night acquired former NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies and promptly signed him to a two-year, $30 million extension.

The initial report did not include that Miami had sent former first-round pick Justise Winslow to Memphis in the deal.

At that point, former Heat star Dwyane Wade took to social media to note that it was a great deal for the team that defined the vast majority of his Hall of Fame worthy career.

As news that he had been traded to Memphis broke, Winslow had a tremendous reaction to Wade’s post.

This is the wholesome NBA pettiness that we’ve been waiting for with the NBA trade deadline approaching. It happens every year. It was just a bit delayed in starting this year.

In Winslow’s defense, it is surprising to see Miami move on from the injured 23-year-old wing. He averaged 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season. Winslow is also among the best perimeter defenders in the game.

That’s the cost of getting Andre.
