All-time NBA icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is recovering after a scary incident this weekend.

TMZ Sports reported Saturday that Abdul-Jabbar has been hospitalized after suffering a broken hip in a fall on Friday night. Abdul-Jabbar’s rep, Deborah Morales, revealed that the basketball legend was attending a concert on Friday night and accidentally fell to the floor.

Morales adds that paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department quickly responded to the scene and transported Abdul-Jabbar to UCLA Hospital. Abdul-Jabbar was said to be “deeply appreciative” of the support and care he has received (though no update was given on his condition).

Now 76 years old, Abdul-Jabbar has continued to make appearances at big events. Earlier this month, he was spotted at a Los Angeles Rams game.

Listed at 7-foot-2 during his playing career, Abdul-Jabbar has also kept in the spotlight with his commentaries on various issues. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.
