LeBron James wasn’t the only player with Lakers ties to win a game at the free-throw line over the weekend.

No less than former Lakers guard Kendrick Nunn did the same. Nunn just performed his heroics more than 6,000 miles away.

Nunn, 28, couldn’t find an NBA job in free agency this past offseason, eventually signing with Greek club Panathinaikos. The move paid off, as Nunn sank a pair of free throws with 13.4 seconds left on Sunday to lift his new team to an 86-85 win over AEK Betsson.

He finished the game with 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

“Each game I am playing better. I am getting more comfortable,” Nunn told Greek public television ERT, via Eurohoops.

Nunn was traded by the Lakers to the Wizards in February as part of the Rui Hachimura deal. He spent time with the Heat to start his career. He said he already notices a difference between the NBA and the Greek league.

“It’s a lot more physical and more congested on the floor,” he said, via BasketNews. “It feels like a playoff game every game.”

But that’s not the only adjustment an American has to make while playing overseas.

“I haven’t picked up on the language. Thank God everyone speaks English, and the food is amazing,” Nunn said.
