Joel Embiid has always been an All-NBA caliber player, but this season has been his best one yet. He is currently leading the league in scoring with 29.6 PPG, and his name has been part of the MVP discussions. Joel Embiid is also averaging a career-high in assists with 4.5 APG.

Many believe that Joel Embiid has a case for being the best player in the world. Joel Embiid has led the Philadelphia 76ers to the third seed in the Eastern Conference, even though he was playing without a co-star for the majority of the season. He has simply been flat out dominant this season.

Kendrick Perkins has recently claimed that Joel Embiid has proven that he's the best player in the world after beating Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks going into All-Star break. Perkins gave Embiid huge praise and implied that Joel Embiid's playstyle is a mix between Kevin Durant and Hakeem Olajuwon, both of whom are championship-winning players.

He's the best player in the game of basketball. We talked about babies... If Hakeem Olajuwon and Kevin durant had a baby, guess what: it would be Joel Embiid that came out.

He's so skilled, and he took that matchup personal yesterday. He cannot be guarded. If you watch him, he has everything in his arsenal. I mean step back 3 pointers, it's so beautiful to watch. Spreading the floor, running with great speed and great pace... can play bully ball too, getting and 1s, going to the low block... He's the best player in basketball.

There is no doubt that Joel Embiid has turned many heads with his fantastic play. Obviously, the championship is the ultimate goal, but Joel Embiid could potentially add some individual awards to his trophy cabinet if he keeps up this tear that he's been on.

There are a lot of analysts and fans who think that Joel Embiid is the MVP of the season, and perhaps this is the year we see the big man get the award. He was among the top-3 candidates for the award last season, but the award ended up going to Nikola Jokic. Hopefully, we see Joel Embiid get deserved recognition for his play in the future.
