Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant way back in 2011 tweeted out an interesting comment that proved beyond a doubt he harbored a major crush on actress Scarlett Johansson. Although perhaps “interesting” isn’t the best way to characterize Durant’s social media musing, as the then-Oklahoma City Thunder superstar argued he’d… drink Johansson’s bath water.

Alrighty then.

Now, more than six years later, the tweet apparently remains an interesting point of conversation. Or at the very least it merited an inquiry during Durant’s appearance Thursday on Bill Simmons’ podcast.

“I hope she was aware of it,” Durant said of his original tweet, via the New York Post. “It is strange now because it made me look crazy, but now it made me look real cool because I would. I actually love Scarlett Johansson, and I would do that. And she’s single now from what I heard.”

Unfortunately for Durant, the notion that the 32-year-old actress is on the market does not appear to be the case. After filing for divorce in March to end her two-plus-year marriage to Romain Dauriac, rumors suggest she’s perhaps romantically involved with “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” host Colin Jost.

That said, kudos to Durant for standing by his original waterlogged declaration. Maybe.
