There is no question that Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies is having a crazy season.

The point guard is posting 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game.

Oh, and his Grizzlies are now second in the West with a 49-23 record.

Everyone knows how great Morant is – including some of his biggest competitors.

Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets recently praised Morant.

Durant said this of the Grizzlies star: “When he’s playing, I see like two or three, four different Hall of Famers in his game. From Iverson, to he might make a Jordan-like layup, or he might run down the court like a Westbrook or a D Rose.”

Durant isn’t wrong: Morant is all sorts of greatness wrapped up in one package.

MVP Morant

When you watch him play, you certainly do see shades of all the players that Durant listed, from Westbrook to Iverson and beyond.

That’s because Morant has been influenced by so many of the legendary icons who came before him.

This has all resulted in an explosive player who is not only a true threat from nearly anywhere on the court but is also ready and eager to defend the basket.

It’s true that he has created some incredible defensive plays lately, including some monster blocks.

It’s no surprise to hear his fans chanting “MVP” over and over again this season.

Indeed, Morant has a real chance at nabbing that coveted honor when the season is done.

The Grizzlies have many strong players on the team but none are as important as him.

Praise from Durant will definitely make Morant happy but the ultimate prize will be a strong playoff run.
