Kevin Love paid lost wages for Cavaliers arena workers during NBA hiatus

Kevin Love is a man of the people.

When the NBA paused its season back in March, Love covered lost wages for the workers who swap out the arena floor at RocketMortgage FieldHouse, according to Chris Manning of Forbes.

Andre Drummond also reportedly donated $50,000, Manning adds. Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, whose net worth is $43.9 billion, apparently did not cover the wages of arena employees.

This is an extremely nice gesture from Love, though it's something that many athletes have done amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The NBA Players Association recently donated $50,000 to keep a Disney World union food bank running for laid-off employees as a way to thank them for their hard work while players were on property for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo also donated $100,000 to Fiserv Forum employees and New Orleans Pelicans big man Zion Williamson paid the salaries of Smoothie King Center employees for 30 days.
