The Stockton Kings, who are the G League associates of the Sacramento Kings, will be missing G Jaylen Nowell as they prepare to face the Mexico City Capitanes on Thursday.

Nowell's suspension comes after being thrown out of Stockton's game last Friday for making inappropriate comments towards one of the officials. G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim made the decision Monday to suspend the guard without pay for one game due to his actions.

Even after Nowell was ejected in the second quarter, Stockton would go on to win the game by a score of 112-111 against the Rio Grande Vipers. The team will be without the guard as they take on the Capitanes at Golden1 Center in Sacramento.

The former University of Washington standout was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2019 draft, and stayed with the team until this past year when he signed with the Kings' organization. The 2019 Pac-12 player of the year signed with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this season on a 10-day contract, but returned to Stockton afterwards.

Nowell is currently averaging 16.7 points per game in the G League, along with four rebounds and four assists. While with Minnesota, the guard averaged 10.8 points per game in his best year while appearing in nearly 200 total games over five seasons.
