Klay Thompson Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors fell to the Grizzlies in Memphis by a 133-119 final score on Saturday, but the contest will be remembered most for a late moment between benches.

After Warriors head coach Steve Kerr pulled his starters late in the fourth quarter, Thompson could be seen counting out the number of rings that he has (four) in the direction of Dillon Brooks and the Grizzlies bench.

The dig was not unprompted, as Brooks had apparently been yelling, "You suck" toward Thompson. Come at a king, you had best not miss.

There is some recent history here, as the two teams met in the Western Conference semifinals last season, with the Warriors winning in six games on their way to the 2021-22 title. Sparks also flew during the Golden State-Memphis matchup that took place last week.

While the Warriors do have the rings, certainly, they have battled injury concerns throughout the current campaign while struggling to breach over the .500 mark.

Golden State and Memphis split their four games this season.
