Kobe Bryant's childhood basketball hoop sold for more than $37K

Kobe Bryant memorabilia has skyrocketed in price since the Los Angeles Lakers legend's death more than one year ago. A piece of his childhood home even sold for a significant amount.

According to TMZ Sports, Bryant's childhood basketball hoop sold for $37,200 at Heritage Auctions. It was attached to the garage at Bryant's childhood home in Pennsylvania.

The house recently sold for $810,000 and the seller wanted a boatload of money for the backboard and rim, but the buyer wasn't interested. As a result, the hoop was dismounted and the seller struck gold by putting it up for auction.

A lot of Bryant memorabilia has sold recently. The shoes he gifted to LeBron James in 2002 sold for $156,000. A piece of the court where he played his final NBA game sold for more than $600,000 and a rare Bryant rookie card will sell for more than $1 million (the current bid is $1,010,000).
