Kyle Lowry reportedly expected to join Heat via sign-and-trade with Raptors

Toronto Raptors star Kyle Lowry could very well be a member of the Miami Heat come Monday night.

According to Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer, all signs are pointing toward Lowry joining Jimmy Butler and the Heat this summer via sign-and-trade with the Raptors.

Lowry's interest in Miami doesn't come as a surprise. He has been close with Butler since sharing the court with the Heat star at the 2016 Olympics.

The moment Miami picked up Goran Dragic's $19.4 million team option for the 2021-22 season, league personnel began to speculate that Lowry would end up in South Beach, according to Fischer.

Dragic would likely head to Toronto in a sign-and-trade for Lowry, Fischer adds. The deal could also include Precious Achiuwa.

While the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks had interest in Lowry, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports those teams are beginning to search elsewhere for starting point guard help.

Lowry is seeking a deal in the neighborhood of $30 million per year over multiple years with his new team, Wojnarowski adds.

The 35-year-old has been a six-time All-Star since arriving in Toronto in 2012 and helped the franchise win an NBA title in 2019. Last season, he averaged 17.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game while shooting 43.6% from the field and 39.6% from deep.
