Ahead of the 2023 NBA playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers opted to fill out their final roster spots with two experienced veterans to help propel the squad on a deep playoff run. The first one went to Tristan Thompson, who had captured a championship with LeBron James back in 2016 and got minutes in spurts when LA believed the matchup was ideal.

The second spot went to Shaquille Harrison , a defensive-minded guard who had played on six different teams before joining the Lakers and was hoping to take advantage of any playing time he received to show he still belongs in the NBA. That did not quite workout seeing the guard depth that LA already had with the likes of Austin Reaves, D'Angelo Russell and Dennis Schroeder eating up majority of the minutes.

Harrison saw action in eight games in the postseason, where he logged about three minutes per game to go with averages of 1.3 points and 1.1 assists. Among other moves announced by the Lakers earlier today, they decided to waive the 29-year-old guard.

"The Los Angeles Lakers requested waivers on center Mo Bamba and guard Shaquille Harrison."

We'll have to see if anybody takes a chance on Harrison now that he will be looking for a new home once again and we wish him the best of luck moving forward even if he isn't on our side anymore. Plenty of teams can benefit from an experienced guard that commits on both ends of the floor!
