Los Angeles Lakers forward Christian Wood will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee and is likely to be out multiple weeks, per Adrian Wojnarowski and Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

Wood, 28, has missed the past 13 games with the knee issue, including Monday’s home game vs. the Atlanta Hawks. He is in his first season in LA and averaging 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds and shooting 47 percent from the field in 50 games.

Basically, this is another blow for the Lakers, who entered Monday night at 36-32 and in 10th place in the Western Conference — or the final available spot for the play-in tournament.

They’ve already been missing Cam Reddish (ankle), Jarred Vanderbilt (foot) and Gabe Vincent (knee), all considered regular parts of the rotation. The Wood situation cuts into their depth even more and from the sounds of things, could last all the way to the playoffs/play-in.

Wood is 6-foot-9 and signed a multiyear deal with the Lakers in September after spending the majority of the offseason as a free agent.

He has also spent time with the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers since entering the NBA in 2016.

He carries career averages of 13.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.7 blocks in eight seasons overall.
