Patrick Beverley is reportedly in demand. Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Patrick Beverley was one of the key pieces traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves in their recent acquisition of Rudy Gobert. The 34-year-old did his typical thing in 2021-22.

Statistically, Beverley was largely unimpressive. Regular-season averages of 9.2 points, 4.6 assists, 4.1 boards and 1.2 steals per game don’t exactly jump off the page.

That said, he did also help lead the Wolves to their first playoff showing since 2018, and once there, he started in each game and averaged 11.0 points, 4.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per outing.

Along the way, he also made headlines for everything from chasing an opposing player down in the parking lot to destroying Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook.

According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, there is a very good chance Beverley is getting dealt sooner rather than later. Three teams have been named as front-runners for his services.

“Beverley also appears to be a strong trade candidate,” Fischer wrote. “The former [Minnesota] Timberwolves point guard has drawn interest from the Lakers and Heat, sources told B/R.

“Philadelphia had been mentioned as a potential Beverley suitor, with his past Houston experience and the [Philadelphia] Sixers’ obvious deep [Houston] Rockets connections, but it seems unlikely that Beverley would now be Philadelphia-bound after the team acquired De’Anthony Melton on draft night.”

It will be interesting to see if Beverly ultimately ends up in L.A., Miami or Philly when it’s all said and done.

Can Beverley put one of his potential suitors over the top and win his first ever career championship in 2022-23?

Time will tell.
