LeBron James causes stir with cryptic tweet

As fans across the NBA know, the Los Angeles Lakers are bound for change as the Feb. 8 trade deadline approaches. They've been linked in numerous trade rumors and mentioned as a potential landing spot for multiple top players, including one they faced Tuesday night in Atlanta: Hawks guard Dejounte Murray.

And after the Lakers' 138-122 loss to the Hawks, James took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a message. But that message came in the form of just one simple emoji — an hourglass.

Not surprisingly, the reactions poured in, with many wondering if it meant that James' time with the Lakers could be winding down. Others referenced potential trade deadline moves and some even highlighted the desire for a head-coaching change.

But whatever James meant with the message, it generated plenty of attention and buzz. One can safely assume that the Lakers front office is well aware, or will be soon, of the future Hall-of-Famer's post, but now it'll be even more interesting to see what happens in Los Angeles over the coming week.
