LeBron James continues to defy time with latest feat

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James continues to do things no other player his age has done on the court. On Sunday against the Houston Rockets, James accomplished another age-defying feat.

James led the Lakers to a 134-109 win over Houston, earning his second triple-double of the 2022-23 campaign.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, James is the first player, 38 years of age or older, to post multiple triple-doubles in a season.

He joins Elvin Hayes, Tim Duncan and Karl Malone, who have only three triple-doubles combined after age 38, per Stathead

James finished with 18 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds against the Rockets, shooting 8-of-18 from the field and 1-of-7 from 3-point range.

Injuries have taken their toll on James this season, limiting him to only 51 games. Sunday was James' fourth game back after sitting out the previous 13 games nursing a foot injury that has plagued him most of the year.

Nevertheless, James is still playing outstanding basketball in his 19th NBA season. James is averaging 29 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists, shooting 50% from the field.

After going 8-5 without James through most of March, the Lakers have won three of their last four since his return. Los Angeles improved to 40-38 following Sunday's win over the Rockets, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the Western Conference.

The Lakers hold a slim lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves (39-40) and Oklahoma City Thunder (38-40) for the eighth seed in the West. However, with only four games remaining, L.A. can still improve its position for the upcoming playoffs.

The Lakers remain within striking distance of the New Orleans Pelicans (40-38), Los Angeles Clippers (41-38), and Golden State Warriors (10.5), with the potential to jump three seeds if they close the year out strong.
