LeBron James reportedly changing back to No. 6 after new 'Space Jam' movie debuts

LeBron James plans to switch things up this offseason after wearing No. 23 with the Los Angeles Lakers for three seasons.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, James is switching back to his old No. 6 after wearing the number in "Space Jam: A New Legacy," which is set to be released next month.

James wore No. 6 with the Miami Heat, winning championships with the franchise in 2012 and 2013. He switched back to No. 23 when he returned to Cleveland and helped the Cavaliers win a title in 2016.

Now that No. 23 is available, Anthony Davis could change his number. He wore No. 23 with the New Orleans Pelicans and in college with the Kentucky Wildcats. However, Charania reports that Davis is expected to continue wearing No. 3.

The Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs with a first-round loss to the Phoenix Suns. Perhaps James believes switching his number will be a good omen entering the 2021-22 season. We'll just have to wait and see what he says about making the change.
