NBA Hall of Famer and current television analyst Charles Barkley has a golf swing that is the stuff of legend. Unfortunately for Sir Charles, said golf swing isn’t legendary for the right reasons. For years, golfers and non-golfers alike have marveled, recoiled in horror and then uproariously laughed at what arguably is the most horrible golf swing in the history of the sport, at least that has been caught on camera. The bizarre swing has done him no favors on the course, either, as Barkley routinely finishes in the back of the pack of the many celebrity tournaments in which he participates. In fact, his ever-evolving (yet never improving) swing is so well-known for its abject awfulness that Barkley was under the tutelage of renowned swing coach Hank Haney and the carnage was documented in a season of Golf Channel’s The Haney Project. Golf Digest recently compiled a listing of its favorite golf GIFs, and lending further evidence that the wretched golf swing has reached historic proportions, Barkley’s made the cut. Yep, that’s ain’t pretty. It would be one thing if the unconventional approach to a golf swing translated to success on the course. But sadly, it does not.
