New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis could be the next big name to join the Los Angeles Lakers after LeBron James. Well, maybe not, but Davis did buy a huge pad near the City of Angels.

TMZ Sports reported on Monday that Davis purchased a $7.5 million humble abode in Westlake Village, California, and posted an overhead image of the sprawling estate on Twitter:

It’s pretty much a straight shot down the 101 from the Westlake Village area to the Staples Center, so it wouldn’t be too difficult of a commute if Davis were ever to desire a move to the Lakers, even with that notorious L.A. traffic.

The report indicates the property features an indoor basketball court, along with a guest house that has its own bar. In the main house there is also a gym, home theater and outdoor kitchen, per TMZ.

Let’s pump the brakes on reading too much into Davis’ new residence with regard to this playing career, though.

The 25-year-old still has three years remaining on his current contract in New Orleans (h/t Spotrac). Plus, the Pelicans just advanced to the Western Conference semifinals this past season and could be a piece or two away from ascending among the NBA’s true elite.

Davis is a big reason why New Orleans can dream of reaching that level, thanks to a monster 2017-18 campaign in which he averaged 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.6 blocks per game.

Maybe in a few years Lakers fans will have a realistic chance of seeing Davis rock the Purple and Gold. If James sticks with his contract all the way through, he’d be in the final season of his new deal of four years, $154 million.
