The shooting death of hip-hop legend Nipsey Hussle this past weekend in Los Angeles impacted the NBA world in a big way.

Earlier in the week, Oklahoma City Thunder star and Southern California native Russell Westbrook dedicated his record-breaking game to the legend.

It’s now LeBron James’ turn. Sidelined against the Golden State Warriors at the Staples Center Thursday night, King James paid his respects to Hussle by wearing a shirt with the late-great hip-hop artist’s likeness.

With Nipsey being a true L.A. icon — the city of his death — this has hit the local community hard. James obviously understands that.

Many NBA players considered themselves friends with the mogul. That included James’ opponent Thursday night, Stephen Curry. The two-time NBA MVP took the news of Hussle’s murder especially hard.
