On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Houston Rockets in California.

The Lakers won the game by a score of 107-97, and Anthony Davis led the team with 27 points and 14 rebounds.

Following the game, the Lakers assigned Maxwell Lewis to the G League.

Lewis played three minutes against the Rockets.

Via Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation: "Lakers have assigned forward Maxwell Lewis to the South Bay Lakers."

The South Bay Lakers will play their next game on Monday when they visit the Ontario Clippers.

Therefore, Lewis will likely be recalled to the Lakers before their next game on Tuesday when they host Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns

Lewis was the 40th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Pepperdine.

Last season, he averaged 17.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest while shooting 46.8% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point range in 31 games.

The 21-year-old has played in ten games for the Lakers but has yet to score his first career points (he is averaging 4.3 minutes of playing time).

As for the Lakers, they are 12-9 in their first 21 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

They are 6-4 over their previous ten games and an impressive 8-2 in the ten games they have hosted on their home floor in Los Angeles.

The franchise won the 2020 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat and is coming off a season where they reached the Western Conference Finals.
