Luka becomes first player since MJ to open season with six straight 30-point games
Michael Jordan loves Luka Doncic. Now Luka's matching MJ's feats.
Against the Orlando Magic, Doncic became the first player in 36 years to open the season by scoring thirty or more points in every game. And he didn't waste any time, scoring 30 in the first half.
Doncic has long been a favorite of Jordan, who signed the Mavericks star to his Jordan Brand imprint in 2019. At last year's All-Star Game, Jordan suprised Luka with a hug attack - and Michael Jordan is not a huge hugger.
Jordan's streak lasted only six games, so Luka could pass him with another big scoring night. Of course, after Jordan scored only 28 points in the Bulls' seventh game, he came back with a 48-point effort, and two weeks later began a streak of nine straight games of 40+ points. Which means Luka will have another milestone to shoot for.
