Luka Doncic dropped a hilarious vulgar one-liner on rookie teammate’s debut

You can add Luka Doncic to the list of people who are fans of Dallas Mavericks rookie Dereck Lively II.

Following the team's opening-night 126-119 victory over the San Antonio Spurs and No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama, Doncic had high praise for Lively and couldn't contain himself when accidentally dropping an NSFW one-liner to describe the rookie's play.

"He played f---ing amazing," Doncic said in the postgame interview, per Hoop Central.

Doncic immediately laughed and apologized for the slip-up with his postgame comments, but he's not wrong when evaluating how well the Mavericks rookie played. Lively logged 31 minutes off the bench, totaling 16 points with 10 rebounds (five on the offensive end) with one block, one steal and one assist for good measure. Lively shot 7-of-8 from the field and finished at a game-high +20.

As superb as Lively was in his NBA debut, it was Doncic who stole the show. The 24-year-old star finished with a 33-point triple-double, complete with 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

Kyrie Irving also had a strong night in the box score, finishing with 22 points, while the Mavericks as a whole had six players score in double-figures.
