Dallas Mavericks star guard Luka Doncic had played in a total of 143 career regular-season games heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Chicago Bulls. Despite this, he had already joined an exclusive list that previously included only LeBron James.

Despite his Mavericks struggling big time against the Chicago Bulls through three quarters on Sunday, Doncic was out there making highlight-reel plays in Big D.

Dude legit went behind the back twice before dropping the ball off for an easy two. As we noted, that’s some Magic Johnson-level stuff. By virtue of this assist, Doncic made some history.

Luka Doncic surpasses Michael Jordan on all-time NBA triple-double list

This represented the 29th time in 144 regular-season games that Doncic has put up a triple-double. He did it in just three quarters with 34 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists. Talk about an insane stat line for a team that was losing by 14 points heading into the final stanza.

With that said, Doncic still has a long way to go in order to take over the top spot. Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson currently holds the record with 181 career triple-doubles. At this rate, Doncic will pass that mark at some point in 2030 or so.
