On Monday night, the Dallas Mavericks suffered arguably their worst loss of the season, falling to the Utah Jazz in embarrassing fashion, 127-90.

In Kyrie Irving's return to the lineup after a 12-game absence, Dallas no showed in the second half as Utah put on a scoring clinic at home, including a 34-11 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Despite the loss, Luka Doncic continued to move his way up Dallas' all-time assist list, passing former Maverick Steve Nash for fifth all-time.

In the loss, Doncic finished with 19 points, six rebounds and 14 assists, and he’s averaging 11.3 assists over the last month.

Doncic passed Nash on the Mavs' all-time assist list in 47 less games while averaging 8.1 assists per game vs. Nash's 7.2 assists per contest during his time in Dallas.

Doncic fits the mold of LeBron James, as a player who can dish out double-digit assists per game while also scoring north of 30 points per game, while Nash fit the mold of your traditional point guard.

For Nash, who sits at No. 5 on the NBA's all-time assist list with 10,335 career dimes, saw his assist rate jump once he departed Dallas for Phoenix, running Mike D'Antoni's seven seconds or less offense and capturing two straight MVP's in in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

Next on the list for Doncic is former teammate Dirk Nowitzki, who sits at No. 4 on Dallas' all-time list with 3,651 assists.

At this rate, Doncic won't just become the Mavs' all-time assist leader but he should find himself amongst the top dimers in NBA history once his career is all said and done.
