Magic guard Patrick Beverley had a wild trade deadline

Patrick Beverley had an eventful NBA trade deadline.

First, on Wednesday night, the mercurial guard approved of the Los Angeles Lakers' trade for his former backcourt teammate, D'Angelo Russell, by quote tweeting ESPN's picture of the two of them in Minnesota Timberwolves uniforms.

Then in the early morning hours Thursday (around the time Kevin Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns), the 34-year-old posted a message comparing arguably the two most famous NBA insiders (ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic's Shams Charania). In the tweet, Beverley seemed to indicate that, in his opinion, "Woj" was beating "Shams" in the act of breaking news on trades.

In a wild twist, Beverley was then traded from the Lakers to the Orlando Magic less than an hour before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET deadline, ending his reunion with DLo before it even started. Ironically (but not surprisingly), Charania was among those to break the news that the former First-Team All-Defender was heading East.

From dramatic flops to historic technical fouls, it's been another crazy season thus far for Beverley. The Magic will be the fifth team of his career and fourth in the last three seasons, and it doesn't appear that his antics will slow down any time soon.
