Marcus Smart scares Celtics fans with Christmas announcement

Marcus Smart made a dramatic announcement on Twitter. Luckily, it was about commitment.

Celtics fans had to worry after seeing this cryptic post from their point guard, especially after the follow-up.

After having Kyrie Irving on the team for two years and experiencing Jaylen Brown's travails on social media, Celtics fans were likely nervous about Smart's intentions. But the news was happy.

One of the NBA's best lockdown defenders has now locked down a fiancée, his girlfriend Maisa Hallum. And while Smart is a playmaker for Boston, for this proposal, he received an assist from Will Smith.

The actor recorded a video message for Hallum, all the way from Antarctica.

"We're coming back from the South Pole, but I just wanted to take a minute," a heavily bundled-up Smith said. "I wanted to wish you a very, very Merry Christmas. Now, I know that you may not have gotten the stuff that you wanted. I promise you, you're not going to end this Christmas empty-handed, OK. That's all my message is."

After the video played, Smart got down on one knee and proposed. Now no matter how Boston's season ends, at least one Celtic is definitely getting a ring.
