Good things happen when MarJon Beauchamp trusts himself more. This was the case when Beauchamp had the confidence to shoot the ball in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 110-105 win over the New Knicks on Friday night.

Milwaukee got a big boost from MarJon in the win after the sophomore forward caught fire from the three-point area triggering a crucial run in the second quarter.

Providing the spark

Beauchamp nailed back-to-back triples, and the Bucks went on to outscore the Knicks in the second quarter, 35-21, and take a 56-46 lead at the half after ending the period down by four points, 21-25.

Beauchamp was extra efficient in the game, as he finished with 13 points in just 13 minutes of play. He shot 5-for-7 from the field and 3-of-5 clip from deep.

Building that self-confidence

Those stats were a welcome sight for someone who is trying to be more confident with his game.

“I was just happy my teammates trusted me,” Beauchamp said. “I’ve been working extra work, just trying to build my confidence because I know I’m a good shooter. Just gotta put in the work, you just gotta believe, stick to my mechanics, and let it fly,” said Beauchamp, who was Milwaukee’s 24th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Beauchamp has played four games so far and is good for 8.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest. MarJon is one of the hardworking players on the team, and his teammates are pushing him to be more assertive.

“His confidence is where it needs to be,” Crowder said. “He’s put in the work. You can only get confidence in the work you put into it, so he’s putting in the work when the lights are not on. I’ve come in the gym a few times at night, he’s in there. I just think it’s paying off.”
