On Wednesday evening, the Phoenix Suns hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder in Arizona.

The Suns won 132-101, led by Devin Booker's 44 points in 28 minutes.

However, the disappointing news was the fact that 13-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant was supposed to make his home debut with the Suns but slipped and hurt his ankle during pregame warmups.

After the game, Greg Moore of azcentral sports reported that Durant could be out for an extended period.

Via Moore's article on azcentral sports: "The Arizona Republic has learned that there is concern within the organization that Durant has a grade 2 sprain, which would keep him out for between four and six weeks."

Durant was traded (via the Brooklyn Nets) last month in a blockbuster deal.

He has played in three games with the Suns (they won all three), and he averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest (while shooting 69.0% from the field and 53.8% from the three-point range).

The 34-year-old is one of the greatest players ever, and his addition to the Suns makes them arguably the most talented team in the NBA.

In 2021, the Suns made the NBA Finals, and last season they had the best record in the league during the regular season (64-18).

They are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 37-29 record in 66 games.

Durant has also had stints with the Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder and Seattle SuperSonics (in addition to the Nets).
