Mavericks agree to 10-day deal with two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas

All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas is on to his next team, reportedly agreeing to a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks. He is expected to join the team immediately as they prepare for a road game against the Sacramento Kings.

Thomas, 32, is fresh off of a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. He averaged 9.3 points in four games for the Southern California squad.

The two-time All-Star with the Boston Celtics has only played seven total games over the last two seasons because of a hip injury that required surgery. He started off his career playing three seasons for the Kings before spending a brief stint with the Phoenix Suns en route to a memorable run with the Celtics.

Dallas' roster, like many others across the league, has been hit hard by the recent COVID-19 outbreak. The Mavericks have placed nine players in the league protocol this month, with center Boban Marjanovic and guard Brandon Knight being added to the list on Wednesday. (Knight is in the middle of a 10-day hardship contract with the Mavericks.)

Forward Reggie Bullock is currently the only player cleared to exit the protocol after missing five games, according to ESPN.
