Dallas Mavericks guard Josh Green will miss at least two weeks with a sprained right ankle, head coach Jason Kidd said Sunday.

While Green is set to begin his absence with Sunday's game against the Denver Nuggets, Mavericks star forward Luka Doncic will play against the defending NBA champions after dealing with hamstring soreness.

Green, 23, has averaged 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 54 games (32 starts) this season. He came away with the injury in the first quarter of Thursday's 126-119 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and had to be helped off the court.

Doncic missed the loss to the Thunder. The five-time All-Star has averaged an NBA-best 34.3 points per game with 9.0 rebounds and 9.8 assists in 58 contests (all starts).

Dallas (38-29) entered Sunday's game in eighth place of the Western Conference standings, and a game out of sixth place, which would earn an automatic playoff spot.
