OKLAHOMA CITY — The Dallas Mavericks entered Thursday's 126-119 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder dealing with Luka Doncic's hamstring injury. The team now has to manage an injury for Josh Green, who suffered a right ankle sprain during the game, causing him to be ruled out.

Green exited the game in the first quarter, with 4:12 remaining, due to a right ankle sprain. The injury occurred when he stepped on his teammate Dereck Lively II’s foot, twisting his ankle.

Shortly after the incident, Green limped toward the locker room with the assistance of Markieff Morris and a member of the coaching staff helping him.

Mavs coach Jason Kidd informed the media that the X-rays on Green's ankle were negative, though the duration of his potential absence remains uncertain.

"It's a right ankle sprain. We'll see how he feels tomorrow," Kidd said. "Definitely hurt it so he couldn't come back. I think the X-ray's been negative."

Green has averaged 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 54 games this season. He had a stretch starting on the wing but was replaced by Derrick Jones Jr. on the wing next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving earlier in March.

The Mavs have various wing options to rely on if Green has to miss time, including starting wings P.J. Washington and Jones. Other options off the bench include Tim Hardaway Jr. and Dante Exum, who can slide over to the three spots, potentially creating more opportunities for Jaden Hardy to play.
