In what will come as brilliant news for hopeful, male singletons across the country, Maya Jama is now back on the market.

Jama was due to be married to the basketball superstar after he proposed back in December, but things appear to have fallen apart in their relationship.

As is reported by The Sun, Jama is understood to have made the difficult decision to end their relationship and now will not be returning to the United States.

She is believed to be heartbroken, and understandably so, but has decided to focus on her career and evidently couldn’t see a future for the pair of them.

With Simmons playing for the Brooklyn Nets, the sheer amount of travelling the pair will have had to do will have been a strain in itself, no doubt.

That is the gruelling reality of long-distance relationships, which no matter how strong the feeling, very rarely work out as they do in the movies.

As sad a situation it is, it’s hard to imagine there’ll be many men disappointed to hear that Maya Jama is single again…
