Personal Life

Eugene Omoruyi is a proud Nigerian-Canadian who was born in Benin City, Nigeria and immigrated to Canada with his family as a one-year-old. Playing soccer early on, he didn't start playing basketball until his second year of high school at Monsignor Percy Johnson. Throughout high school his career took off as he averaged 16.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, earning Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association First Team All-Star honors in his final season.

Giving back to the community is very important to Eugene. The forward held his first annual Eugene Omoruyi Camp in August of 2023. "I am honored and blessed to have presented these wonderful kids a two-day camp, with a lot of energy and resilience. Thanks to my family, friends, Coaches, and everyone that helped put this together! More camps to definitely come in the future," Eugene shared on Instagram.

The Wizards and Capital City Go-Go are excited to have Eugene Omoruyi a part of the DC  team! You can follow him on IG @br0kebabystunna
