Landry Shamet Game Highlights

Personal Life

Landry Shamet was born in Kansas City, Missouri. His father, Ron Davis, was a professional basketball player but his mother Melanie Shamet raised Landry on her own. Landry didn't know about his father until he was a teenager and met him for the first time in 2021. Landry shared the experience of meeting his extended family during the Phoenix Suns 2022 Media Day. See quotes below provided by azcentral.com

“I connected with my father for the first time last year, last fall,” a forthcoming Shamet said at Media Day. “And with that stepped in a big brother role with three younger siblings. Hadn’t met any of them. They didn’t know about me. I’ve known about them since I was like 16.”

“The only child of a single mom my whole life, it’s a life changer,” Shamet continued. “Stepping into that, putting myself in that position, I think I underestimated all that would come with it. The things that would go on internally with me. So truthfully, a lot of the time [in 2021], my mind stepping into games, it wasn’t all on basketball. I feel like I’m in a spot now where it can be because this whole summer, I was with family all summer.”

The Wizards are excited to have Landry Shamet a part of the DC Family! You can follow Landry on Instagram @landryshamet and @landryshamet on Twitter/X.
