Wenyen Gabriel most recently played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season when he was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers

The former Kentucky star averaged 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 59.6% from the field in 68 games (two starts).

He also appeared in ten NBA playoff games as the Lakers reached the Western Conference Finals.  

On Thursday, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that Gabriel will sign a 10-day deal with the Memphis Grizzlies

Via Scotto: "The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a 10-day contract with Wenyen Gabriel, league sources told @hoopshype. Gabriel spent time with the Wisconsin Herd this season in the G League and previously appeared in the NBA with the Lakers during the 2022-23 season."

Gabriel will be in his fifth season in the NBA and has also spent time with the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets (in addition to the Lakers). 

His career averages are 4.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 53.1% from the field in 145 regular season games. 

He has also appeared in 14 NBA playoff games. 

As for the Grizzlies, they are the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-41 record in 63 games. 

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a two-game winning streak. 

On Friday evening, the Grizzlies will play their next game when they host Dejounte Murray and the Atlanta Hawks in Tennessee.
