Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. has undergone significant ups and downs throughout his young NBA career. Despite dealing with serious injuries that sidelined him for long stretches, Porter weathered the storm and played a vital role in Denver's 2023 NBA Championship.

One of the few constants in Porter's career has been his relationship with PUMA. As a rookie, Porter was one of the first NBA players to sign a sneaker deal with PUMA as the German brand re-launched its performance basketball footwear division at the same time as his entry into the league.

There was a brief break in Porter's relationship with PUMA, as he wore Nike sneakers from Paul George's signature sneaker line during Denver's Championship run last summer. However, Porter has officially signed a new contract with PUMA per Nick DePaula of Boardroom.

Throughout this season, the Nuggets forward has flashed an impressive rotation of PUMA footwear. Porter has worn the signature sneakers of Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball, Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson, and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart.

In his interview with Boardroom, Porter cited PUMA's flexibility in dealing with his injuries and the brand's emphasis on promoting women in sports as some of his main reasons for signing with the brand.

Denver is well-positioned to make another deep postseason run with Porter healthy and playing at a high level. Now, with his new sneaker deal on the books, the 25-year-old can focus on winning his second championship ring. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your footwear news.
