Although it leaves a small bitter taste, former Suns’ duo Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson have suddenly taken the league by storm in their short amount of time with the Nets.

The Suns’ traded away this pair of emerging stars to acquire 13-time All Star Kevin Durant just before the trade deadline. And so far, both parties appear to have won the trade.

Mikal Bridges has already recorded three 30+ point nights, compared to just one with the Suns.

One of these came on Friday night, when Bridges put up 38 points. The breakout performance played a large role in the NBA’s largest comeback of the season, as the Nets overcame a 28-point deficit to defeat the Celtics 115-105.

Mikal went 4 of 6 from beyond the arc and recorded his first double-double on the season since the Suns’ opening night.

On the other hand, his counterpart, Cam Johnson, is averaging near 25 points per game over the last four games. Johnson just celebrated his 27th birthday, and the former first-round pick is on his way to becoming a household name.

The two teammates refer to themselves as “twins” and note that as long as they have each other, they will be alright.

This tight knit friendship is going to be difficult to break apart, and for the Suns, trading them away may eventually lead to a feeling of regret in years to come.
